Located within the Jungmun Tourist Complex in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, Yeomiji Botanic Garden opened in 1989 with the aim of showcasing tropical and global plants, symbolizing "a beautiful land." In 1992, it was recognized by the Korea Guinness Association as the largest greenhouse botanic garden in the East. In 2003, it was designated as an ex-site conservation institution by the Ministry of Environment, working to restore endangered wild plants to their natural habitats in Jeju. Yeomiji Botanic Garden is primarily composed of an outdoor botanic garden and a greenhouse botanic garden. The outdoor botanic garden is made up of about 1,000 species of tropical and temperate plants on 30,000 pyeong and is being developed into a space where flowers bloom in all four seasons. The garden includes Korean, Japanese, Italian, and French gardens, a lawn square, herb gardens around the square, a wetland garden, a gravel garden, and a hosta garden, allowing visitors to enjoy both Eastern and Western-style gardens simultaneously. The 3,800 pyeong greenhouse botanic garden features newly developed areas, including the entrance hall, vertical garden, rock garden, and the mysterious pond garden. Surrounding the central hall, where various themed exhibitions and events are held, the garden is divided into the Flower Garden, Water Garden, Cactus Garden, Tropical Garden, and Tropical Fruit Orchard. At the center stands a 38-meter high observation tower, with a total of over 1,300 plant species planted throughout.
