What is ISO 20121 (the Event Sustainability Management System)?
ISO 20121 is an international standard that provides the most economically, environmentally, and socially efficient and sustainable ways for MICE events and management system of an organization. This certification provides the world’s best problem-solving methods in the field of sustainable events and is designed to secure sustainability by settling economic, environmental, and social issues faced by related businesses at all stages.
Development History of the Certification
ISO 20121 was developed by a committee composed of those experts in the MICE event industry all around the world and leaders in the field of sustainability, and has been in effect since June 15th, 2012.
Acquisition of ISO 20121 Certification
The certification can be introduced to the organizers of MICE, event venues, agencies, service businesses and DMO & Convention Bureaus. This ISO has been drafted to help organizations improve the sustainability of their event-related activities and management system.
